Vacancy - Teacher of Mathematics

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics

Thank you for showing an interest in this post. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in one of the school’s most successful departments. The role is to start in September 2024 and would be ideal for an ECT or someone looking for a new challenge.

We have almost 800 students on roll; boys only 11-16, and co-educational in the Sixth Form. The school has long been synonymous with excellence and the school’s reputation for providing a first-rate all-round education for local students has been strengthened even further over recent years. Our academic results speak for themselves while our achievements in Sport, Music and other activities are outstanding. The Maths department is perceived as a real strength and asset in the school, with a large uptake in the Sixth Form.

We have been recognised as one of the top schools in the country based on our performance in the last few academic years, and students have regularly accepted offers for Oxbridge and the top Universities. The friendly, cheerful atmosphere of the school helps our students enjoy learning and, as they grow into young men and women, we enable them to take increasing responsibility for themselves and for others around them.

To the right candidate, this post will be an extremely rewarding experience, an opportunity to really make a difference. We hope that having read the information and looked at the information on the website, you will decide that Carre’s is the right school for you and that you will make an application. To do so, please submit the application form and a letter of no more than 2 sides of A4 in which you should cover:

  • Your experience of teaching to date;
  • Your educational philosophy;
  • Why this particular post would suit you;
  • How you would help take this department forward; and
  • Relevant interests that would enrich students at Carre’s.

Completed applications should be emailed to Mrs J Body, PA to the Executive Headteacher of the Robert Carre Trust, and be in school no later than midday on Friday 3 May. Interviews will take place within 7 days of the closing date, but we reserve to right to call candidates to interview before the closing date.

If you would like further information about the post or an informal discussion, please contact Mr Paul Harvey (Head of Mathematics.)

You are warmly invited to visit our school and should contact Mrs J Body (Head’s PA) to book a visit, but we recognise that this may be difficult, and it does not preclude you from applying or being called to an interview if you are unable to visit us beforehand.

As part of the Robert Carre Trust we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo enhanced DBS checks.
