Olympic Torch Wednesday 27 June 2012
Published: 29/05/2012 09:02:00 | Category: HeadteacherFurther to my letter dated 30 March regarding the Olympic Torch relay, I would like to confirm arrangements for the day:
- The procession will start at the Rec and finish at Carre’s Grammar School. Roads will be closed from about 3pm and should reopen at 5pm. The roads have to be cleared to be ready for the procession, hence the school will close at 12.30pm.
- The school will be closed to students from 12.30pm and there will be no supervision except for those in the procession. A separate letter has been sent requesting volunteers to take part in the procession.
- Breaktime for students will be between 11.05am and 11.35am; there will be no lunch.
- Buses will be running from 12.45pm and staff will be on site to ensure that students leave the site safely.
- The Director of Community Sport and Facilities, senior students and staff will be responsible for boys taking part in the procession. Those taking part will be at the Rec from 2.45pm.
- The gym will remain open for those who wish to access the facility on foot, and the pitch will be open as normal.
- The exam will still be going ahead for those students involved.
