The Telegraph Media Group regarding our Media Literacy Programme - starting in March 2025. 

The programme aims to break down the barriers to careers in journalism and provide school pupils with the tools and skills to think critically about the media landscape. It provides an insight into what it’s like to be a journalist at an award-winning multimedia news brand. It is open to all 16-18-year olds across the UK.

The online sessions will be with a range of journalists from departments across the business, including news, sports, beauty, music, and social media, with students having the opportunity to learn skills such as headline writing, interviewing and travel writing, and win prizes. 

The programme will run for four weeks, beginning on Tuesday 4 March 2025. Sessions will run from 4 to 5 pm every Tuesday. At the end of the programme, each student will receive a Telegraph Media Literacy Journalism Certificate.

About BWAMS 

BWAMS is a society run by medical and dental students which aims to support students from under-represented backgrounds to enter into healthcare careers. Dr.eam Aspire Virtual Conference 

Dr.eam Aspire is a free-to-join online conference held via Zoom Webinar for Year 10 - Year 12 students. Our goal is to introduce students to the exciting world of healthcare careers. 

The day will consist of a variety of inspiring talks to provide insight into careers in healthcare and provide useful guidance for university applications. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions from our fantastic speakers, including doctors, dentists and nurses from around the country. 

On the day of the event, safeguarding measures will be taken in accordance with the University of Birmingham’s Safeguarding Policy, and all BWAMS members are DBS-checked. 

With hundreds of prospective students joining our Dr.eam conferences each year, we believe this event will be hugely beneficial for students who may be interested in healthcare-related careers.
