As part of the English Department’s dedication to achievement and enrichment, Year 11 students had the opportunity to see a performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens followed by a 30-minute workshop that allowed them to explore the themes and characters within the novel.

'A Christmas Carol' is a set GCSE English Literature text that students will be examined on in their final exams, so it was extremely beneficial to watch this production.

The play was performed by the well-regarded theatre group ‘Box Clever'.

The English Department staff enjoyed the afternoon exploring Dickens in performance with Year 11s.
