Leadership Changes in Sleaford Grammar Schools

It is with mixed emotions that I am letting you know that at the end of this academic year, after over 18 years as Headteacher at Carre’s Grammar School, and 11 as the Executive Headteacher of the Robert Carre Trust,  I have accepted a new opportunity within the Community Inclusive Trust as Director of Secondaries, a position that will allow me to support and strengthen secondary education across the Trust.

This has not been an easy decision. Working with our children, families, and school community has been one of the greatest honours and privileges of my career. Over my time as Headteacher and Executive Headteacher, I have been incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. Our schools have grown in strength, stability, and ambition; teaching and learning have continued to improve; and our students have benefitted from a richer, more inclusive curriculum. We have strengthened pastoral care, expanded enrichment opportunities, and built a culture where every child is both known and valued. These successes are the result of a dedicated staff team, supportive families, and young people who never fail to inspire. I will always remain immensely proud of all we have accomplished.

Although I am moving into a Trust-wide role, I will continue to be connected to the work of our schools and deeply committed to their ongoing success. I want to thank you sincerely for your trust and support throughout my time here; it means a lot to me.

I am also delighted to share that Mrs Josephine Smith will be stepping into the role of Executive Headteacher. Jo is an exceptional leader who already has an impressive track record within education. She has successfully led school improvement initiatives, taking Kesteven and Sleaford High School to Outstanding in all areas, strengthened teaching and learning, and built highly effective teams focused on the wellbeing and progress of every student. Jo brings a commitment to selective education and a clear vision for the future, and I know she will continue to drive both the schools forward with the same commitment to excellence and inclusion that our community deserves.

Thank you again for your continued support. I look forward to seeing the schools continue to thrive in the years ahead.
